Pattern Use Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
We love seeing what you make! This policy explains how you can use the free patterns on YarnPurls. In short: make and sell the items, share the link — but don’t share or sell the pattern itself.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!✓ You may
- Make items from our patterns for yourself, as gifts or for charity.
- Sell finished items you make by hand from our patterns, in small quantities (for example at craft fairs or on Etsy).
- Share photos of your finished items on social media — please tag @yarnpurls and link to the pattern.
- Link to our patterns from your blog, Pinterest, Facebook groups or forums.
- Print one copy of a pattern for your own personal use.
✗ You may not
- Copy, republish or distribute the written pattern, in whole or in part, on any website, group, PDF, ebook or video.
- Translate the pattern and publish the translation.
- Sell the pattern, or include it in a paid kit, course or bundle.
- Use our photos to sell your items or on your own pattern listings.
- Mass-produce items from our patterns in a factory setting.
- Use our patterns, text or images to train AI models or to generate derivative patterns.
Selling finished items
When you sell items made from our patterns, we kindly ask that you credit us in your listing, for example: “Made from a pattern by YarnPurls”, with a link to yarnpurls.com.
Want to do something else?
If you’d like to feature a pattern in a magazine, teach it in a class or collaborate with us, email hello@yarnpurls.com. We’re usually happy to say yes!
